THE EFFECT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED LITERACY MODEL IN HISTORY LEARNING ON THE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of artificial intelligence-based literacy models in history learning on the critical thinking skills of high school students in Yogyakarta. The increasing use of artificial intelligence technology in the learning process affects the way students obtain information and process historical knowledge. The use of technology such as artificial intelligence provides opportunities to increase learning effectiveness, but it is also necessary to examine its impact on the development of students' critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research subjects are class X students who participate in history learning with the support of artificial intelligence-based technology. Data collection was carried out through observation of learning activities and the distribution of questionnaires to students related to the use of artificial intelligence in the learning process. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, and Independent T-test tests to determine the influence of the use of artificial intelligence on students' critical thinking skills. The results of the study show that the artificial intelligence-based literacy model in history learning has a positive and significant influence on improving students' critical thinking skills. The use of artificial intelligence helps students understand historical material in a more contextual, reflective, and interactive way. In addition, the use of this technology also encourages students to develop learning independence and academic awareness in using information sources more wisely. Therefore, the integration of artificial intelligence-based literacy models in history learning can be one of the innovative strategies to improve the quality of learning and form students who are critical and adaptive to technological developments.
