USING PODCAST IN TURKISH LESSONS TO IMPROVE MOTHER TONGUE SKILLS

Abstract
Needs of human beings for understanding and expression is met in different ways via the innovations of the age. Technological innovations occupy a larger space in our life day by day, expands its place and meets our needs thanks to the tools produced using those innovations. "Podcasts", which have similar features and functions to radio broadcasts that were popular in the past, sometimes to get news and information and sometimes to have fun, are attracting intense interest today. A podcast can be defined as an audio diary or a digital product in which a separate topic is covered in each episode. It is seen that audio texts have taken their place among educational tools, especially in recent years, and research on the subject has been carried out. In this study, the issue of utilizing podcasts, a current technological tool, in Turkish lessons as a lesson to improve mother tongue skills is discussed. The use of podcasts in developing students' language skills and enriching their vocabulary, the criteria that teachers should take into consideration in creating and selecting podcasts are discussed in accordance with the research in the literature.
